For over 11 years I have had the privilege of supporting children and adults with disabilities at YAI. As you know, at my core, has always been my personal connection with summer camp, what it has brought to me personally, professionally and what I have seen it bring to families and children through Mainstreaming At Camp. While my job and scope of responsibility has evolved at YAI it is always been rooted in the freeing experience of summer camp. Children I met at age ten are now staff members and navigate their young adult lives taller, prouder and more secure because of their experiences at camp. Equally important is the experience that an inclusive setting provides to children and teens without disabilities as they understand what community really is.
Help continue the tradition of YAI's camp experience for 2017 by making a donation or joining the team. I am already training hard post baby Stearns to complete the 4 miler too!
I hope to see you in the park on June 3rd!
Best - Sarah
